You will love this quick and easy Hummus Pasta with Asparagus!
What happens when you combine two of the best foods ever? Hummus Pasta! This vegan dish is an absolutely amazing budget-friendly and fuss-free comfort food, that’s also healthy, oil-free, and oh so yummy. Hummus pasta makes an awesome spring meal with fresh asparagus and lemon zest, that’s great both cold and warm. If you are a hummus lover, it’s a must-try recipe!
This recipe is ridiculously simple to make, but it’s still out-of-this-world delicious! It’s really just the perfect weeknight dinner recipe, since it takes no more than 15 minutes to make, requires just a few simple ingredients, and it’s totally versatile. You can use whatever hummus you like or have at home, then just adjust the consistency with a little bit of pasta water for a creamy sauce. I really love a simple lemony hummus, pumpkin hummus or roasted pepper hummus. But if you are not a fan of chickpeas, you can use other legumes, such as white beans, kidney beans, or black beans.
Asparagus is in season now and I just can’t get enough, but there are endless other veggies that go super well with hummus pasta. Bell pepper, artichokes, spinach, kale, cherry tomatoes and broccoli are some of my favorites.
I like to use spaghetti or linguine for this recipe when I serve it immediately warm, and something short, like penne or rotini when I plan to eat it cold, as a pasta salad. But you can also make it with zucchini noodles for a lighter version, all up to you.

Once I was out of tomato sauce and only had a can of chickpeas, so I made hummus to use it as a pizza sauce. Ever since I eat hummus as a sauce with everything, it’s seriously good 😉

I would never have thought of incorporating hummus into pasta, but I don’t see the reason why not! I can easily imagine those nutty notes hummus will introduce. Very interesting!
green evi says
Oh, it’s seriously good, especially if you’re a hummus fan 😛
