The 10 most popular recipes of 2017 on the blog.
I went through all those boring statistics and data, just so I can bring you today the most popular recipes of the year. I have to say, you have a pretty good taste, I couldn’t have made a better list myself. Vegan cheeses, traditional Hungarian recipes, comfort foods and quick recipes, here’s what you loved this year:
Top 10 Recipes of 2017
1. Raw Vegan Cashew Mozzarella
This raw vegan cashew mozzarella is very easy and quick to make, requires only 4 ingredients and it comes pretty close to the ordinary cheese. It’s great in salads, in sandwiches and you can even put it on your pizza.
2. Vegan Hungarian Paprika Potato Stew
This traditional Hungarian Paprika Potato Stew is probably my favorite comfort food, especially since it’s a very budget-friendly recipe. My version is oil and gluten-free, but still full of flavor!
3. Savoury Chickpea Crepe Cake
A beautiful savory crepe cake made with tender chickpea crepes layered with 3 delicious spreads: white bean and tahini, wild garlic and zucchini, and avocado and artichoke. This cake is a vitamin, nutrient and protein bomb, but don’t be afraid, it doesn’t taste ‘healthy’ at all. This crepe cake is delicious warm or cold and it’s perfect for brunch or as a simple dinner with green salad.
4. Black Bean and Quinoa Balls with Spiralized Zucchini
These quinoa balls are crispy, hearty, and full of flavor. Plus they are simple to make, requiring just a few ingredients. These mini balls go so well with pasta or spiralized zucchini (and this sun-dried tomato pesto), and they are great simply as a snack with your favorite dip.
5. Simple Raw Cultured Cashew Cheese
It’s sharp, tangy, has a delicious outer rind, while the inside is still super creamy, and it’s totally cheesy. This cultured cashew cheese is just perfect to set up an epic vegan cheese platter, but it’s also great as a little snack on toasted baguette slices.
6. Vegan Mushroom Stroganoff with Roasted Potatoes
This vegan version of the classic stroganoff is surprisingly “meat-like”, it would impress even the non-vegans out there. It’s creamy, savory and loaded with delicious flavors, it’s just the perfect comfort food.
7. Red Lentil Falafel with Cashew Tzatziki
In this recipe some simple ingredients transform into little balls that are bursting with flavor and have awesome texture. These spiced red lentil falafels with fresh parsley and cilantro are super simple and quick to make, and they are also healthy, oil-free, gluten-free, high in protein and most importantly extra delicious!
8. Simple Vegan Lemon Miso Pasta
It’s the perfect extra quick weeknight dinner with a glass of white wine, but it’s also great cold, so you can take it with you to work. You can also totally customise this dish, it’s super delicious with lima beans, chickpeas, edamame, green peas, kale, sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes.
9. Vegan Fondue
This quick and easy vegan fondue recipe is exactly what you need to throw an epic fondue party. It melts and stretches just like the good ol’ Swiss cheese one and tastes phenomenal. It takes just about 15 minutes to make this creamy, yet hearty cheesy deliciousness, so you can make it any weeknight as a quick snack or an indulgent main dish.
10. Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage with Mushroom and Tempeh
Tender sour cabbage leaves wrapped around a hearty, ‘meaty’, savory, seasoned filling, then it’s all cooked in a lovely paprika-sauerkraut soup and topped with a big dollop of cashew sour cream – I’m telling you guys, Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage is the true comfort food!
