We’ve recently spent 3 short days in Prague and I have to say that Prague is my new favourite place for vegan eats. I was very positively surprised that Prague is so vegan-friendly, there were numerous vegan options in restaurants and 3 days was definitely not enough to try all the amazing vegan places there. It’s super easy to find healthy lunch and dinner options all around the city, and my favourite part was that even health food restaurants offer beer. How cool is that! Honestly, there is nothing cooler than ordering a big, nutritious raw meal with a big, not so nutritious cold beer.
Prague is the place to visit if you are on a tight budget. You can get a big and filling meal anywhere for a very good price, even in fancier restaurants you won’t pay more than 15€ for a meal. As usual Happy Cow is always a big help when travelling, but I’ve also listed for you some of the most delicious places we’ve visited for your next trip to Prague.
Vegan in Prague
Plevel, Krymská 2, 101 00 Praha 10
Plevel is a lovely little place with a great vegan menu. Their menu is often changing, but they always offer snacks, burgers, and different raw foods. We tried the raw pumpkin spaghetti with pesto and the Brazilian bean burger, both were great. The portions are huge and the staff is friendly, this place is an absolute treasure.
Vegan’s Prague, Nerudova 221/36, 118 00 Praha 1-Malá Strana
One of the cutest restaurants I’ve ever been, Vegan’s Prague just below Prague Castle is a MUST in Prague. Try to find a table on the tiny balcony, it’s super romantic up there. They have some Czech specialities on their menu, as well as raw and GF options, so you can definitely find something you like there. We’ve tried the beetroot carpaccio, the daily burger and a veganized version of a traditional Czech dish made with tempeh and root veggies. I liked the food a lot and the staff was amazingly friendly here too.
Moment, Slezská 62, 120 00 Praha 2
This hipster paradise was probably my favourite place in whole Prague. They have everything you can dream about for a perfect vegan breakfast or brunch for a very budget-friendly price. On their menu you’ll find ‘egg’ dishes, sandwiches, salads, bagels, wraps, sweet dishes, cakes and delicious drinks, all between 1-5 €. It’s also a great place to chill or work for a few hours.
Chutnej Fast Food, Voroněžská 19 ,Praha 101 00
It’s the place to visit when you are a junk food lover. They have pizzas, burgers and cakes with delicious soft drinks. You can also take your pizza with you, the area is perfect to drink a few beers in a cute bar.
Country Life, Melantrichova 15, 110 00 Praha 1-Staré Město
A buffet style place with a small organic shop in the front in the city centre. The food is good, but nothing spectacular. It’s always a good option when you need something quick and can’t find anything on the menu in the city centre restaurants.
Loving Hut, various places all around the city
We didn’t visit any Loving Hut in Prague, mainly because there are two of them in Hamburg too, so I preferred to try something different and because I’m a logo snob and Loving Hut’s logo is a massive turn off for me, but if you want a quick and cheap meal Loving Hut’s are always there for you.
In Prague there are also countless juice bars and salad bars, most of them are not 100% vegan, but they usually have an english menu and everywhere we went they also spoke english very well, so ordering should be no problem. You can get a large juice usually for 2-4€.
And if you are not that into healthy stuff, beer is always there for you. After we learned that the Czech Republic has the highest beer consumption in a year per capita we joined the club and had a few drinks every night. BeerGeek and Containall were our favourite places.
Thanks again for everybody for the great tips, all your suggestions were amazing! Can’t wait to go back to Prague again!
