These whiskey and maple roasted nuts are so special, though they are super easy to make! They are sweet with a slight whiskey taste, perfect for snacking on. I am not a huge whiskey fan but these nuts are so delicious, that this will maybe change.
After some christmassy liquor making projects and some boys night out in the flat we are left with 3 bottles of whiskey. And I can’t stop thinking of these bottles. I surely don’t wanna drink them, but I had to try to make something with whiskey. Okay, using 3 tablespoons of whiskey didn’t really make them disappear but slowly I am getting there 😀
Though I like to drink whiskey is just not my thing. So I didn’t expect a lot from these nuts, but I was absolutely wrong! They are so good, a real treat! These roasted nuts are beautiful golden brown and anyway, is there anything better than some roasted nuts at winter time? Of course not!
PrintWhiskey and Maple Roasted Nuts

Ingredients
- 2 cups of mixed nuts (I used walnut, cashew and almond)

- Preheat oven to 150°C. Add the maple syrup and whiskey to a pan and bring them to boil. Add the nuts and let them simmer for 10 minutes. Stir it well so all the nuts are coated with the mixture.
- Drain any excess liquid and spread out the nuts on a baking tray in a singe layer. Season with salt and pepper generously.
- Roast the nuts for about 10-15 minutes, turning them over once halfway through baking time. Let them cool completely before serving. Enjoy!

Well this a creative use of whiskey! 🙂 I’m sure they’re delicious. I’m with you, I’m not a whiskey drinker. Actually, I’m not a hard alcohol drinker, wine is my thing.

Yes, they are delicious and great with some wine (and grapes)! 😉
I also don’t really drink hard alcohol, maximum in cocktails or long drinks. I’m a wine person too 🙂
